aruba from my kindle

in

to anyone wondering where the responses to their emails are, i am sorry. i have found it impossible to get wireless access for my laptop. i outsecured myself from my gmail and my attempt at an alternative with hushmail did not work. the kindle browser does not play nicely.

in other news aruba has been nice. i have learned here that mcdonalds is not popular but wendys is off the chain packed. prices vary wildly, and the grocery industry is run by the chinese. the poker is amazing, but the games play big. i played from about8pm to 2am and when i left there was about 15k on the table at 2-5 stakes.

the motel i stayed at was truly bargain, as advertised. totally fine for me but someone with refined tastes would be upset. they were kind enough to wait four hours past closing the night i got there to give me a key. the next two days thugh nooone showed up! no one is not quite fair.. there was a very friendly lady who cooked breakfast in the morning and kept the place spotless.. really super clean. but the front desk was closed.. she couldnt get in to turn on our phones. she did let me borrow her cell once.

no hot water but its eighty out and thw water is probably close to that anyway. the water did just stop running for a few hpurs once but came back.

all in all the locals are extremely friendly. the beaches are all public which is nice. i was able to hang out amongst the fancy resorts and the employees were super welcoming.

i fly to curacao tonight and have a ywelve hour layover then to caracas for a seven hour layover. two hours of flying one hour of driving and 19 of waiting and i will be in merida.
